A. All vehicles provided by FLEXXiLease come with one (1) key so that In the unfortunate situation that you may lose it, FLEXXiLease are able to provide you with a spare key instantly. Q. What does DPF mean on some models?

A. An Increasingly number of diesel vehicles on our fleet are now fitted with the latest environmentally friendly DPF systems (Diesel Particulate Filters). These filters are at the very forefront of technology and are in essence a catalytic convertor for the modern diesel engine. As well as filtering exhaust fumes they can dramatically reduce the % of soot emitted from cars, thus having a very positive effect on the environment. FLEXXiLease is commited in its social responsibility and environmental initiatives, which is why we are actively promoting vehicles with DPF systems. However due to the technology and 'optimum operating temperatures', cars with DPF systems are not reccommended for light urban users who frequently conduct short trips.

The reason for this is that the DPF unit does not generate enough heat to perform to its required level and will therefore result in deposits building up in the filter. Unfortunately, the cost of replacing/repairing DPF systems that have become blocked are not covered under normal manufacturer warranty, and therefore it is essential that use of vehicles with DPF systems are used within manufactuerers guidelines.

Our advice to all our customers is to review their normal day to day driving journeys and to see if it would facilitate a DPF vehicle.

Please note: A combination of urban and non-urban driving (ie.short trips in and around town combined with motorway driving) is perfectly acceptable for cars fitted with DPF systems.
